Course Description
The Professional Certified Investigator (PCI®) certification, offered by ASIS International, recognizes professionals who possess specialized knowledge and skills in conducting investigations, collecting and preserving evidence, preparing case documentation, and presenting findings. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This course is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive review of the PCI exam domains, helping them strengthen their investigative knowledge and prepare effectively for the certification examination.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Have 3–5 years of professional investigations experience.
  • Include at least 2 years of experience in case management responsibilities.
  • Be employed full-time in a security or investigations-related role.
  • Have no criminal convictions that could negatively impact their professional standing or the ASIS certification program.
  • Agree to sign and comply with the ASIS Certification Code of Conduct.
  • Agree to follow all policies and requirements outlined in the ASIS Certification Handbook.

Training Methods

About the Exam

  • To earn the PCI® designation, candidates must sit for and pass the official ASIS International exam. The exam is delivered either at authorized Prometric test centers or via an approved online proctored format through ASIS.
  • Candidates are responsible for registering for the exam and submitting all required education and professional experience documentation directly to ASIS.
  • The PCI® exam consists of approximately 125–150 multiple-choice questions covering three core domains of professional investigations practice.
  • The exam includes scenario-based questions designed to assess practical investigative decision-making and real-world application of knowledge.
  • The exam fee is not included in this training package and must be paid separately to ASIS International.
