API 571 Corrosion and Materials
Course Description
This course provides a comprehensive understanding of API 571, which covers damage mechanisms affecting fixed equipment in the refining and petrochemical industries. Participants will learn how to identify, evaluate, and mitigate various forms of corrosion and degradation, ensuring equipment integrity and compliance with industry standards. The course emphasizes practical application for inspection planning, risk-based inspection (RBI), and material selection strategies.
The Training Course Will Highlight ?
Training Objective

By the end of this course, participants will:

  • Understand the scope and structure of API 571 and its role in asset integrity.
  • Identify damage mechanisms affecting pressure vessels, piping, tanks, and other fixed equipment.
  • Learn corrosion fundamentals and how process conditions influence degradation.
  • Apply API 571 knowledge to inspection planning, RBI, and fitness-for-service evaluations.
  • Select appropriate materials and corrosion mitigation techniques for different environments.
  • Interpret case studies and failure analysis reports to prevent recurrence.
