The primary objective of this course is to instruct occupational health and safety auditors in the principles and practices specific to auditing for conformance with the national and international accepted norms and regulations relating to Occupational Health and Safety requirements. The aim of this training course is to provide practicing auditors with an understanding of the underlying philosophy, principles and requirements of the OHSAS 18001 standard. The course enables participants to acquire the principles and techniques in conducting safety management system audits. The course enables participants to develop the necessary expertise to audit an occupational health and safety management system (OHSMS) and to manage a team of auditors by applying widely recognized audit principles, procedures and techniques. During this training, the participant will acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to proficiently plan and perform internal and external audits in compliance with ISO 19011, the certification process according to ISO 17021. Based on practical exercises, the participant will develop the skills (mastering audit techniques) and competencies (managing audit teams and audit programs, communicating with customers, conflict resolution, etc.) necessary to efficiently conduct an audit.
