Course Description
The training is provided in a workshop fashion where active participation adds a value. It uses various technologies to create accurate material that is meaningful engaging, and relevant; it includes intense learning opportunities provided through presentations, related videos, workshops, etc. The course characterizes sustained interest, enthusiasm and participation displayed by the participants throughout the program.
The Training Course Will Highlight ?

Piracy and armed attacks continue to occur on all too frequent basis. Current threats to maritime security are on the rise and the need to prevent and combat the threat is of utmost importance. This has triggers the recent conventions and legislation in this area.

The International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code prescribes responsibilities to governments, shipping companies, shipboard personnel, and port/facility personnel to "detect security threats and take preventative measures against security incidents affecting ships or port facilities 

Prospective security personnel receiving this training will clearly sense the reality of today’s security issues, which include piracy, terrorism, contraband smuggling, cargo theft, and collateral damage.

Training Objective

Those who successfully complete the course should be able to:

    • Demonstrate sufficient knowledge to undertake the duties assigned under the Port facility security plan.
    • Detect security threats and implement security measures
    • Establish roles and responsibilities concerning maritime security for governments, local administrations, ship and port industries at the national and international level
    • Collate and promulgate security-related information
    • Provide a methodology for security assessments so as to have in place plans and procedures to react to changing security levels
    • Recognize the characteristics and behavioral patterns of persons who are likely to threaten security;
    • Develop and implement of emergency procedures and contingency plans
